[JCollab] Elizabeth x J & Co Foundry
For this week’s #Jcollab, we have Elizabeth @giftaword sharing with us the quote "Rest in Love".
This is a self-written poem and story of what the quote means to her:
"Rest in love"
When the heights are steep
Far beyond your reach
Fear fills your soul
But love makes you bold
Far beyond your reach
Fear fills your soul
But love makes you bold
When all that is left
Is your shadow that follows
Start looking somewhere
Find refuge in Care
When you give up fighting
Competing and seeking
It was not meant to be fair
Love wont let you compare
When you carry a weight
Too heavy to bear
Don't do it alone
Have someone to share
When your past revisits
Scenes replay on their own
Let love lift your chin
Your head that hung low
When life is harsh
And your heart grows cold
The warmth of kindness
Doesn't grow old
When the nights seem long
And the days are tough
Do not forget to
Rest in Love
----
We are made for love and to love, because we cannot exist alone. To love we must first be loved. The best givers are the best receivers.
Some of us selflessly give our all and get caught up in the buzz of caring for others. While there is much joy to be found in giving, we forget that we are not superheroes; we need to do the same for ourselves.
I liken ourselves to batteries that need to be recharged when depleted. When we grow weary, we rest to recuperate for the next day. When we find it hard to love, perhaps we need to take time; letting ourselves be loved so that we can love again.
Some people say that you are your own worst enemy. If that is so, may I also say that you can be your own best lover? Remember that you are worth it and worthy of love.
J & Co Foundry has created necklaces with the quote "Rest in Love" engraved on heart pendants. With every purchase of the jewelry, you will receive a postcard specially designed by Elizabeth. It is now available for purchase in-store at 261 Waterloo Street #02-18 (Waterloo Center) Singapore 180261 and online, here.
